Re-Entry Tournaments

How to Re-Enter

Limit on Re-Entries: Some tournaments have a limit on the number of times a player can re-enter. This limit varies from one tournament to the next. If a limit is in place, it will be visible in the tournament lobby.

Staking and Re-Entry: Staking is affected by the re-entry format. If you have bought the action (stake) of another player, that action is only limited to that player's first entry.

Unlike traditional satellites where you win a seat by surviving until a certain number of players remain, Target Stack Satellites work differently. In this format, you win your seat for the target event by reaching a specific chip stack size, known as the target stack.
Once your stack hits the target stack size (e.g., 20,000 chips), you have secured your seat in the bigger tournament.
Why Play? Target Stack Satellites offer a lower buy-in compared to the target event, giving you a shot at bigger buy-ins. They provide a clear goal (reaching the target stack) which keeps your strategy focused. They can also result in faster gameplay than traditional satellites as players are removed upon reaching the target stack.
How it Works: Players win entries by converting their starting chips into the Target Stack via gameplay. As soon as a player reaches the target stack, they win an entry and they (along with their chips) are removed from the game.
Excess Chips: If a player's stack exceeds the Target Stack when they win, the excess chips will be awarded to the player(s) involved in the hand where they reached the target stack. These chips are distributed equally, with any fractional chips going to the player first to act in that hand. If no opponents involved in the hand remain (all eliminated), the winner's entire stack is removed.
Multiple Seats: Players cannot win more than one seat in the same Target Stack event. Once you win an entry, your participation is over, and you cannot re-enter to try and win more entries.
