Why should we limp in 6Plus Hold’em?

When we limp a balanced range of holdings in short deck poker, this allows us to be unpredictable, meaning just because we have limped we may have AA, KK, QQ or just 8 7, 9 10, J 9 for example.

This allows us to get to flops cheaply in the long run with some holdings, as we will have many check raises in our range. For example, if our opponents always raise us with AJo and AQo and we are including AK, JJ, QQ, KK and AA in our limp reraising hands, they are always going to be seriously behind in the long run when they put in further action to our limp raises.

We are dealt 6♦ 10♦ in late position, this is going to be pretty much the bottom of our range, even for entering limped pots, the main thing this hand has going for it is the fact it is suited and flushes are very valuable in 6Plus hold’em as they outrank even full houses and quite often if you make a flush vs another good hand you will not get credit for having a flush as they are so unlikely.

The hand starts with blinds at $0.10/$0.25 in a 25 NL Zoom game, Our opponent opens the button to $0.53, so a little over a minimum raise, he has $25.12 remaining in his stack for us to win. We are in the Big Blind with 5♠ 3♠ and $0.25 already invested in the pot and elect to call, getting a very good price having to call $0.28 into a pot of $1.16 having a suited one gaper that can flop well in a deep stacked pot.
