Playing the top of our range from the Small Blind
We aren’t going to want to play out of position in raised pots with 15BB starting stacks, therefore we will want to use some limps with weak/trap hands and then with a vast amount of the top of our range we will want to simply move all-in.

Let Maniacs Move All-in
There are going to be other spots where we will want to give our opponents room to make their aggressive all in.
In this example, the player to our left had moved all-in as a re-shove the very first hand, so whereas we may just open jam with A9o sometimes from the button it made sense to allow them to move all in again.
So we ended up raise calling instead and the result was perfect for us with the Villian just having 6 High. A terrible re-shoving hand that we will want to punish long term over and over again.
It’s worth noting that we won’t win this all the time, we are a small favourite in this pot with around 60% equity, however, Poker is a game made of small margins, so it’s important to source these small edges.
That being said, if our opponent is jamming 65s they would also definitely get their money in with hands we crush, such as 98s, 97s, A2–A8, K9, Q9, J9, T9 etc..
Heads Up Play
We will want to adjust to our opponent heads up, for instance, if they are playing too tight we will want to make a lot of steal min raises or limps from the button and then bet any flop. However, if our opponent is wild we will want to make sure to be calling off with a wide range of hands, K2s, for instance, would become a premium against a maniac heads up.
In this spot below we were getting a lot of walks from the Villian, therefore we decide to adapt in the way that we would tighten our calling range from the Big Blind but open any two cards from the Button. We want to defend way less against tight players as they will have premium hands that will have our normally correct defending range in bad shape.
Choosing Re-Steal Hands
There are going to be some times when we get heads up within the first level, therefore we can be up to 22.5BBs effective with the total starting stacks on the table equalling 45BBs.
So if we are playing heads up at this stack depth we will start to want to re-steal with good equity hands, we can also take flops with our weaker hands versus min raises from the button, but rather than playing out of position with solid hands we are just going to look to win the pot here or run our equity with suited connectors and broadway hands.
This T8s is a prime example, we could opt to just call here but this is a perfect hand to make a re-steal with especially having the chip lead, even if we are called by a hand like A5o we have a tonne of equity and can win the game around half the time.
