This one is a good one to have in every tournament player’s arsenal… with a free version of the software available for download and in-app purchases for more features like changing the number of players on the table, so if you are used to 6max tables you will probably want to get the full version.
The good thing about even having the free version is that all 9 handed shove decisions are included, which is a good tool for most tournament players.
Another fantastic part of this app is that you can use the “Training” modules that test your push fold knowledge and then will remind you of the ranges when you complete the question, for instance here we have Q9s in the Cut-Off playing 5 Handed, so we will be shoving our 8.6BBs. The app then tells us all the other hands we would include in our ranges such as 87s, 98s, T8s+ J8s, JTo+ etc.
ABC Open Face Chinese Poker App
This is a great app to learn how to play Chinese Open Face Poker, players can choose to play against friends or just play the computer AI that is a real challenge and will keep you on your toes!
All the games you would expect to find are playable including Regular Chinese, Pineapple and 2-7 Middle Open Face. Players can play for free with one game at a time, but a one-off purchase of $4.99 is required to play in multiple games at the same time.
Personally, I just have the free version and like to battle the computer on train journeys, but it all depends on how committed to the game you are!
PokerGo App
This is a good one, from the creators of some of the best Poker content out there PokerGo has an App where you can stream all the biggest tournaments from around the world including Super High Roller events like the Party Poker Millions, Poker After Dark games and Cash Games, The Poker Masters Series and WSOP events.
The app has options for Russian, German and English commentary and there are hundreds of replays and vaulted streams to watch, unfortunately, this one isn’t free with a reasonable membership cost of $10 a month. Definitely worth investing if watching Poker from some of the best is how you learn because watching the plays of these elite Pros is invaluable.
Preflop+ Poker
We saved the best till last with this one, there is some insane content on this app including Nash Charts for Shoves and Calling from 5BBs-30BBs, Equity Drills, Nash Training, Pot Odds tests, Combinatorics drills, Range Training that includes questions like “Do you use this hand to 3-Bet bluff with?”
The app also includes Math tools such as an Equity calculator so you can work out how much equity you have versus your opponents range or exact hand.
The Pro version comes at a cost of a few dollars a month but is really worth it if you are using this to work on your game, the upgraded version allows players to view things like re-jamming ranges, calling re-jamming ranges and different table size decisions like 8, 7, 5, 4 handed and heads up play, only 9, 6 and 3 handed decisions are included in the lite version of the software.
This really is one to download, with excellent tools for improving every facet of your game with fun quizzes and easy tools to use, get this one on your phone!
