So the update on the Galfond challenge is that Phil has decided to take a break after some huge losses that are now totalling €900,000.

So after 15 days of pretty much 100% losing sessions apart from one small win, 9900 hands have been played and Phil is getting crushed, so he is taking a breather, with VeniVedi getting paid €3,000 a day penalty for any sessions he will sit out of.

This is going to seem like nothing compared to some of Phil’s largest losses which have been nearly €300,000!

We will know more about what is going to happen in the next few days, but Phil has stated that he hopes to continue the challenge in March once he has taken a break and cleared his head a little from the tilt of losing so many sessions back to back.

Luke is not a shy man on the twitter felt and Phil losing nearly a Million Euro got him trigger happy, he managed to chime in with an iPhone note of his own.

Phil answered Luke back with: “Call me a delusional, outmatched washed-up, nice(?) nerd all you want, but don’t act like I’m dodging our challenge. We’ll play when I’m done with a few of these, probably after WSOP, as we’ve discussed & planned. Do I have to post our texts?”

So it seems this grudge match is going to go down, but most likely in Bobby’s room away from the watchful eye of the poker rail.
