WSOP Main Event Final 38

New Online PokerPoker News

After a massive response, this huge tournament has smashed all kinds of records with this prize pool of $27,559,500! Hosted on GGPoker the $5,000 event had 3 possible re-entries allowed so needless to say anyone with a sizable bankroll and a laptop was online trying to bag themselves a stack to try and win this huge prize!

After multiple day 1’s, the players took to their seats for the day 2 play, with 728 players getting in the money there was still some play left to go before some players would end up bubbling, one big name that didn’t quite make the cut was Phil Hellmuth. Phil travelled to Mexico to play these events and continue his hunt for online gold and get another bracelet in the mail to go with his collection of 15 so far.

Once the bubble broke there were short stack all-ins all over the place and the field soon whittled down… Some big names ran deep but busted out before the end of day 2, with Issac Haxton grabbing himself $24,886 after busting in 121st and Same Greenwood took $30,776 for his deep run, finishing in 76th when it was all said and done.

So who’s left with a shot at $4Million!?

Bryan Piccioli, the New Yorker who previously finished 6th in the WSOP Main Event is having another run at it, playing from Mexico, this is looking like it was going to be worth the commute, he holds the chip lead going into day 3 which will resume on September 5th.

Probably the biggest name is high stakes tournament expert and poker coach that founded Raise Your Edge, Benjamin Rolle, or BenCB as most will know him, he has 10,789,181 in chips, which is just a little under 54BBs, a fine stack for this absolute beast to work with, we have him as a favourite to take this down, with huge experience, you can guarantee he is going to be in the lab and doing everything else to prepare mentally for this huge spot next weekend.

There’s a Scottish player with $700k in lifetime earnings still looking to net his biggest payday too, with Michael “All Love” Kane, second in chips with around 80BBs, this Glaswegian grinder has been putting in the work for many years, with his biggest score live coming from a 4th place high roller finish back in 2016 where he pocketed €124,330 at the EPT Malta event.

What a time to be alive for online poker players and poker fans alike

With GGPoker booming, the high stakes cash games bigger than ever and setting all new record highs, GGPoker really have pulled off the start of what is looking like a new poker boom. Their ambassador Daniel Negreanu has been putting in a grind online, playing every WSOP event with his bracelet bets on the line meaning he has to play all or nothing. Imagine getting to a final table but having such extra payout pressure on winning that your ICM decisions are completely skewed towards pure aggression, makes for a strange dynamic for him and other players on the same table.
