Tempest Hold’em
Poker has never been so simple, All-in or Fold! With increasing antes the longer there is without a showdown and 3 blinds in play, this is an action-packed game to get stuck into!
In this example from the $5 limit, all-ins are capped at $5 per player, and the antes start at just $0.05 per player but If the previous hand did not have a showdown, the ante value increases to a maximum of $0.20 per player,
All of this means that we will be moving all-in with a wide range of hands when we have just a few bucks in our stack and there’s a tonne of money in the middle already. So look to widen your ranges and have run it twice on to lower some variance.
Heads up play will just be the button posting a Big Blind and their opponent will post a Giant Blind.
Deepwater
Tempest’s Bigger brother is called Deepwater, this is kind of the same animal but deeper stacks and without the all-in or fold element applied.
Players will be sat in an action cash game with the same rising antes when there hasn’t been a showdown and with 3 Blind, the small blind, the big blind and the Giant blind.
This is a great addition to the site, with regular ante-less cash games not providing much action this is similar to what you might see in a live game, with an extra blind (straddle) in place and running antes.
Juicing up the pot makes everyone’s ranges a lot wider and thus gives more action and makes a better game in general!
For instance, in this $0.10/$0.25/$0.50 game, there’s already over $2 in the middle to shoot for rather than if this was say, a $0.25/$0.50 game without antes, there would just be $0.75!
Some pointers in general, these games can be a lot more fun than just a regular game of hold’em, however, there is going to be a tonne more variance in these looser games! So look to play within your bankroll and play a lower stake to what you might normally play just to get used to the extra action that is in store!
