We should be looking to limp behind with a hand like this…
We could raise but the chances we will even get more than one fold or more is slim, so there is little value increasing the size of the pot with multiple players and a hand that is good but not great.
Folding is out of the question as we are likely to have a good holding versus our opponents expected weak limping range.
So limping behind is the perfect option for us to take… let’s see a flop
The Small blind and Big Blind end up coming along, so we take a flop five ways…

We have a strong top pair hand so we should call here…
The Big Blind is showing a lot of strength by just leading out into five players on this board, so we aren’t going to lean towards a raise against this action as the Big Blind can literally have any two cards including combos like 92o, 97o, 72o etc, so against this player we will just look to play some turn cards and see what action ensues.
This is a mistake too many players make by raising on this board, we will allow worse hands to get out of trouble and it’s hard for us to get action unless we are beat or our opponent has a tonne of equity with hands like overcards and a flush draw for example.
The fact that the Hi-Jack is continuing is also another reason for us to just flat call, we need to play more passively in multi-way spots as we will have less equity with our hand.
Playing Suited Aces in Multiway spots

I like to raise here against a limper with a pretty strong hand like a suited Ace high, we can look to get the pot heads up and play against a weak range from the MP limper whilst in position.
We raise to $8 and the Big Blind and Mid Position limper end up both calling the raise, lets take a flop…
Flop: A♣ J♠ 3♦
BB: Checks
MP: Checks

A good flop for our hand but I’d like to see a check behind here…
We are looking to continue in the pot but there is no way we can get 3 streets of value especially in a multi-way pot with just a pair of Aces with a poor kicker on this board. So checking allows us to get value from worse holdings on later streets that might choose to bluff.
We are looking to get to showdown with this middling type of holding, so playing small ball here is a perfect way to start our progression through the hand.

Time to make a Fold…
This is not the ideal action for our hand strength, we could have looked to continue on turns against just one bet. However, our hand shrivels up facing a strong bet and then a raise! We are likely crushed in this pot with all sorts of hand combinations now having us in tough shape including many two pairs, sets and the broadway straight possible.
We are going to want to be folding here around 100% of the time unless we have any reason to believe MP would be raising here as a complete bluff, this is because even if we can call the Mid-Position players raise, we still don’t even close the action and the Big Blind player could raise again.
