The Twitter streets are on fire again with yet another high profile heads up match up fixed. This time the pairing is the up and coming Pro player Landon Tice from Florida who has challenged Bill Perkins, gas trading billionaire who spends most of his time sailing around the world.
So why is this businessman playing the “Child of the Sim” as he’s known for his constant studying of Game theory optimal plays? Well, he is getting spotted 9BBs per 100, which means once the hands have been played, Perkins will have $720,000 in rebates once the game is over.
Berkley comes to defend Landon on Twitter
Poker Pro Jared Jaffee stepped into the role of the grumpy old man on Twitter, with his immediate tweet about this match up… With Berkley stepping in telling him to be quiet.
Landon explains that he wants to play heads up in a high profile spot and whilst he is selling a huge piece of action of himself, he is going to be relatively playing stakes of around $4k NL, rather than $40k NL, so we can assume that he has around 10% of this bet himself.
Some of the specifics of the match as it’s set up right now are as follows:
Match to start in June
20,000 hands to be played
$200/$400 Stakes
9BB/100 edge given
The pair may even stream with hole cards up, which could be a great viewing spectacle for the fans.
Landon’s history in the game includes moving up from playing microstakes online in his mum’s house in Florida to winning a $1k live event for over $200k within 18 months of playing the game.
Although he hasn’t had a history of playing heads up, he enjoyed his commentary during the Heads up challenge between Polk and Negreanu so much he started grinding the format himself.
He currently plays at $2k and $4k NL on WSOP.com which Las Vegas residents can play on legally.
Roll on June and let’s see the HEADSUP4SOULS match up!
