In this post, we are going to take a look at 888Poker’s Jackpot Sit n Go offering.
These are 4 handed, Hyper-Turbo Sit n Go’s that have different levels of game length depending on buy-in and prize multiplier, so, for instance, a game where the prize is x100 the buy-in will have a longer clock and more play than one that is just 2x the buy-in.
Buy-ins are offered from just 10cents up to $100, it’s worth noting though that the 10c-$1 games have just a 2-minute clock, so they are extra quick hyper turbos!

This means we will need to have a slightly different set of strategies for each type of game we end up playing, as there are different ICM implications of all these multipliers.
Winner Take All Games
These games are going to be the highest variance of all the multipliers, why?
Firstly they have the shortest tournament clock, meaning in a few minutes we will be all in with any random hand.
Secondly, it’s a winner take all, there aren’t any prizes for second, so we are going to need to adjust our game for that too…
We are going to want to take any decent hand and try and win the pot in these games, look to open wide in position and bluff or build pots for value.
We need to accumulate all the chips and if we don’t we will be all in with a random hand until a winner is decided at random, so we can be much more risk-averse.
This is a game where we didn’t pick up any lucrative situations and ended up all in with 52s in a four-way pot… So take our advice and just go for broke in these winner take all games, chipping up can give you a huge advantage and a second life when it comes to the blind all in stage of the luck fest.
5x Multiplier
These are going to be pretty common games, making up between 36-41% of the games prize distribution between the different buy-ins we are going to be playing 2x and 5x multipliers most of the time, so we are going to want to have a good strategy to play these games.
The 5x Multiplier game will consist of 3 blind levels of 2 minutes each, ending with blinds at 100/200, after this 6 minutes of play, it’s all in time.
We need to be trying to gain chips in these games, however, we can quite often make the money by playing pretty conservative too, so we will want to play a pretty tight aggressive game and just look to gamble with our best hands.
We are not going to be playing much small ball poker in these types of games, just look to play tight until you get dealt a holding you are willing to risk your tournament life with and go with it.
If we get a big stack though, we will want to put the ICM pressure on the other 2 stacks, because the next player to bust the tournament will get $0 compared to a chance of winning the top prize, in this $15 game that is $42.50 for first place and second taking $17.50 for their efforts.
Look to open your button wide and apply some pressure at the early levels and later on when the blinds go up look to be pushing wide with the chip lead when 3 handed as calling off requires a huge hand on your opponents’ behalf, one that they will probably only be dealt around 10% of the time.
10-100x Multiplier
These are rarer, but you will see 10x multipliers around 3-4% of the time. So we will need to know how to tackle these beasts too!
So the first thing to mention is that the ICM implications are in play from the word go in these games, with 4 players starting and 3 getting paid, placing 4th is a nightmare.
So we will want to lock up a cash firstly and then look to move up some pay jumps, we are going to want to play pretty exploitatively in these types of games though, so if we are on a table where the players are obviously not concerned with the ICM and just playing pots, this is great for us… we can happily take a back seat and watch someone get stacked and earn money for nothing.
However, if players are playing very conservatively then we will want to look to steal some pots early and build a lead. Typically though we will just have to play our lucrative holdings as they come in as we are always going to be wanting to play for the win to some extent even in extreme ICM situations like this, all the money is at the top so we can’t be too scared to play a pot either.
Spots like this are horrible for us when there are 3 places paid, because we have to fold, but now we are the shortest stack and if it comes to a 4 way all in to decide the winner, we will place 4th from having the shortest stack unless we win the 4 way all in with our equity.
So look to play super tight in the opening levels of these games, as players making 3-bets over raises is horrible unless we have the very top of our range like AQs+ or JJ+
1000x+ Prize Pools
I’ve never been lucky enough to play one of these myself with a 1/25,000 chance of these being your game every time you play, there’s more chance of a big win here than other gambles like scratch cards and the lottery, but still the chance of this big of a payday is slim…
However, the payouts if we do get lucky enough to jump into one of these games are:
1st: 60%
2nd: 20%
3rd: 10%
4th: 10%
So with little ICM to worry about and with all the money at the top, the clear thing to do here is to just go for the win, we have 10% of the pool locked up, it’s time to get aggressive and go for the 60%, moving from 4th to 3rd doesn’t win us any money and even locking up 2nd only gets us another 10% of the prizes so buckle up for these games and try and take home the big money!
